After some severe thunderstorms last night we spent another beautiful day on the mother road. After starting in Missouri we crossed Kansas and arrived in Oklahoma. Route 66 enthusiasts say that the pavement starts in Chicago but the actual Route 66 idea started in Oklahoma. The change of scenery is amazing: from rain forest, through farm land with (happy) cattle and past many ghost towns some are allegedly deserted since the early days of Route 66.
So far we completed 1787 miles of our trip and crossed 9 states (MA, NY, PA, OH, IN, IL, MO, KS, OK) and two time zones.
